Interaction with the whale sharks is regulated by the local Department of Tourism office in conjunction with World Wildlife Federation (WWF) guidelines which are observed to protect the sharks.<\/p>\n

3. Manila. As you may already know, Manila is the capital of the Philippines, and is located on the eastern shore of Manila Bay, one of the best natural harbors in the world. Many visitors enjoy the biodiversity of Manila Bay, which includes coral reefs and seagrass beds that provide shelter to fish and other marine life, and 17 square miles of wetlands.<\/p>\n

The city of Manila is rich in arts and cultural events. Popular museums include the prominent Bahay Tsinoy which documents the Chinese lives and contributions in the history of the Philippines; the Metropolitan Museum of Manila which displays Filipino arts and culture, and the Museum of Manila, the city-owned museum that exhibits the city’s culture and history. You\u2019ll also want to go out on the town and consume the delicious food and wonderful beverages of Manila\u2019s exciting night clubs.<\/p>\n

4. Banaue Rice Terraces. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was carved out of the hillsides using primitive tools some 2,000 years ago. These amazing rice fields really need to be seen to be believed, as mountainsides have been transformed into giant steps.<\/p>\n

The Rice Terraces are commonly referred to by Filipinos as the \u201cEighth Wonder of the World.\u201d The terraces are located approximately 5000 ft above sea level and cover an astounding 4000 square miles of mountainside.<\/p>\n
